I just got an email with Spoon & Whisk’s upcoming classes. There is a canning class- hurray!
From their website:
Summer In A Jar
Wed July 21st, 7 pm
This class will teach you how to preserve and enjoy the fresh flavors of summer produce year-round. We will discuss and demonstrate both water-bath canning techniques and refrigerator and freezer preserving. Don’t miss this opportunity to savor summer all year!
Menu: Strawberry freezer jam, sweet and tangy pepper relish, apricot chutney and herb-infused honey!
Instructor: Loren Cunniff • Personal Chef, Caterer and Professional Recipe Developer
Anyone wanna take the class? We could go as a replacement to our monthly meeting.

This sounds like SO much fun, I would really love to do it, but there’s just no way with our schedule this week. 😦 Is anyone else going that can pass along any good info? 🙂
I can’t make it either but would have loved to go. Maybe we should just have a canning get together. Sounds like Chris and I are navigating our way around and we have most of the stuff. Might be worth it if we did a bigger batch of something.
I’m not going-boo. Chuck will be away for work. I agree with Sarah that between the two of us we have all the supplies and are workin’ our way through Put ‘Em Up- I can host an evening or weekend naptime canning session. Maybe we should schedule it for mid-August– won’ t we have TON of tomatoes by then? Lots-o-good things to do with tomatoes…
