We’ve seen the summer bounty flourish in the past two weeks of Dension Farm CSA shares. From the first showings of tomatoes, eggplant potatoes, onions and corn (!!!!) to the melons; cantaloupe to watermelon (!!!!). This week really inspires me to be creative and try my hand at a few new-to-me dishes.
On tap:
1) Ratatouille. Our eggplant is screaming “SUMMER STEW ME!” The volumne is so high that it will be cooking into submission this weekend.
2) Succotash. I’m a huge fan of Smitten Kitchen blog and I will be adapting (allergy friendly holla!) her newest post, Succotash with bacon (yum).
The hope is that both of these recipes will be very Miles-friendly as he loves to pick up handful of mushy veggies and stuff them into his mouth. Both recipes should be fitting the bill. I will keep y’all posted. Until then, enjoy some photographs…

I love my csa share! Lovely produce and the recipes sound yummy.
(This is Mike) Chris- Your photos are beautiful. You should create an account with istockphoto (or any of those) and make some money licensing these!
At the Troy pick up site we also got cherry tomatoes this week. Our eggplant was different. I believe fairytale eggplant. And we also got green beans this week. Yum!
